Hi! I'm so very new here. And training. In swampy, muggy low country summer. With filled backpack, and Vaseline-drenched tootsies. My good husband is king of logistics. A planner. Smart. Patient (usually). We decided to start in Roncesvalles, due to all we read about the treachery and huge numbers of humans, of bad knees and exhaustion. The Pyrenees would be left to the rugged, brave, and strong-like-bull pilgrims. He booked trains, planes and busses; measuring planning with flexibility. Even threw in 2 nights in Barcelona to help take care of jetlag from our Redeye from USA. Good guy! His WIFE, on the other hand, has already thrown a wrench in the "plan" and, after tossing like a salad at night, decided it's imperative to crank it up a notch and head to the Pyrenees, though not strong-like-bull. (Does bullish count?). We are so different, my man and I. And now I've suddenly booked a non-refundable ticket from Barcelona to Pamplona Aug 29, arriving 2:30pm. Will book room in SJPDP for that night and yep, gonna slog through the treacherous beauty in one sloppy swoop as there are "no beds at the inns" and meet my husband, Matt, in Burguete, where we'll begin "our way" together again. I won't post any more long posts. But wanted to put myself out there to make it real as we plan; would love to share ride with others to SJPDP so I can afford the merino wool undies... buen camino already, jo
