Ribadeo Bridge

Hi everyone!

I walked the Camino del Norte in 2009 and remember lots of construction on the bridge entering Ribadeo which made crossing the bridge a "pretty adventure". Planning to guide a group this time on the same route so am a bit concerned about this spot. Can anyone tell me whether there is still construction going on there and how crossing the bridge is like today?
Kind regards
Reino

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Hi! Reino,

Search for ''Ribadeo, Spain'' on Google Map, then use Google Street and you will see that the new bridge is there all prettied up, with pedestrian ways on both sides.

Enjoy the crossing,
Jean-Marc

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hello!

I also remember this bridge well. I walked it summer 2010 and there was no construction, so whatever you passed through very well might be complete!

Buen Camino,

Leaving Asturias and about to cross into Galicia.

Hi all
I too will never forget this pedestrian bridge which more or less hangs off the motorway bridge. First of all finding it was a bit of an adventure. I was crossing by bicycle and half way across i met a local coming against me. Its quite narrow so we both had to dismount and pass bikes from one to the other. Happy memories!.
As i remember access was through a recreational area in the direction of the motorway, some walkers that day missed it and walked on the edge of the motorway, not to be recommended. For bikers the alternative is a detour down the estuary
best wishes

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Hi Voxmox, i went across the bridge to the north of Castropol, i dont remember seeing another one when i looked down the estuary. There may be a boat across from castropol, i dont know. The other option is go down to Vegadeo where the original camino used to cross, not sure what the senalizacion is like on this route or the options for accommodation.

Thanks. My choice will be the same bridge.
The map(topo spain v4) is very confused by camino de santiago. Ways are not at all the same as guide name of Camino del Norte, Ruta Jacobea de la Costa, by Juanjo Alonso.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi voxmox,

There is a few ways to the bridge, two routes go by Tapia, one sticks to the coast after it, and the other goes by the road. One route goes inland through Tol, and there could be possibly others to the bridge.
