Return from Santiago on north coast railway

Hi! I'm intending to arrive in Santiago on foot in mid-October and would like to get back to Bayonne using the north coast railway from Ferrol to Bilbao. I have some information about this service frm the Web but can any body tell me 1) Does it run throughout the year? 2) What's the best (or only?) way from Bilbao to Bayonne to catch the TGV to Paris? 3) Is there a bus/train service from Santiago to Ferrol?

This is my first post but not my first visit to the site and I'm delighted with te information I've already gathered. Many thanks Ivar for setting it up. Any further help with my queries would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
