I did the Camino del Norte in Late July starting in Irun. I gave myself about 38 days and nearly completed this route. I did this Camino 2010 and it certainly has picked up, probably because of the time of the year. Nevertheless it was one of the most hardest Camino's I have done. In one albergue once hospitalero left it was a free for all; drinking til past midnight. No regards for the individuals who were asleep. Needless to say young people were responsible for this. This continued with this crowd until finally had to pass them by a few days or stay at private pension's . Fortunately enough the last two weeks were spent with two ladies my age group and we managed to walk 2 weeks together but having to rely on reservations at private places. They were a joy to be with one Spanish the other Italian, I speak Italian. It seems that reservation is the a must now on the Camino. This was my seventh Camino and possibly the most difficult . The solution I believe id to leave in early June thus avoiding the crowds. Thanks ever so much Victoria and Marinella, hugs and kisses.

Such a powerful word.

Thanks for the report on Camino del Norte.

Que la luz de Dios alumbre su camino.
Just to make know although I did experience some problems with excessive drinking from individuals who were party people, the Camino del Norte is a beautiful route with the Playa a predominant feature. It is worth experiencing this Camino...the food exceptional, especially the Fabada.

" Needless to say young people were responsible for this " .

I have a very different opinion : on every Camino I walked I also encountered older / old people who were drunk or misbehaved.

Please do not try to generalise.

Respect goes both ways.

S...being 46 and I do like the occasional wine/ beer but never misbehaving....;)

Gently people, please do not get personal with each other. Both points of view are valid from the perspective of the individuals posting.

This thread is serving no further purpose - it has just become an exchange of insults. I have deleted a number of posts and closed the thread.

Planning on walking Norte-Primitivo starting about June 10, 2025. Are the albergues very busy at that time and also what will the weather be? I did this the end of August and September of 2017 and...
