Report instances of male aggression on the Camino here

Too often women are silenced, bullied and have their comments deleted when reporting on male aggression (stalking, rape, assaults including the assault of exhibitionism, etc). There is a toxic positivity - only people saying 'nice things' about the Camino are allowed a voice or men who make little of women's fears and lived experiences are allowed a voice while the women's comments are deleted. To be clear - women are the victims of these assaults. Reporting assaults is not 'scaremongering' - it is right and correct to make women aware of specific dangers. Reporting fears is not scaremongering. Telling people to stay at home if they are afraid of being assaulted is insulting and misogynistic. Allowing those misogynistic comments to remains and deleting women's comments is misogynistic. So...report all your bad experiences and fears here. I've created this thread for women to do so. Looking back at old posts on the forum regarding women's safety - they are full of ridicule, often from men, sometimes women. It is time to stop this and put women's safety first and take it seriously.

We have a whole section on this on the forum here:

I don’t think we need another thread about it. Pilgrims that are worried about this can read through it there. No need for a separate thread I feel. In general Spain is a safe country to visit . Safer than many other European countries.

Will close this thread. See the link above. Each time a safety report comes in, we move it there. We have been doing it for years.
