LIVE from the Camino Repair to backpack waistband

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
There is a Decathlon, but it’s out of town and I don’t think they would be much help anyway. The stuff they sell doesn’t usually last long enough for repairs.

So I think your best bet is a sapateiro (not a sapateria, which is a shoe store, my bad, but a sapateiro, which is a shoe repair store).

Sapateiro Visconde da Luz looks like a good bet. Central-ish, though not in the more touristy historic center.

Solas e solinhas is a bit further. Uber or cab is your friend, though!

Thank you @peregrina2000 for your suggestions and help!

Before trying Sapateiro Visconde da Luz, my darling suggested an alternative.
We headed for Retrosaria Ajour, where the kind lady owner sold us a strong leather needle, and some solid thread.
Then my darling applied her fantastic stitching skills, and my backpack's waistband is now fixed!
I must say I am a very fortunate pilgrim! 😊

An odd fail - dang! Buy a sewing kit and sew it back on or go into an ironmonger and buy small bolts and washers, pierce through and bolt on - both work.

I have repaired the odd failure with dental floss. Not attractive but functional.

I buy regularly at Decatlonshops, until now I did not have any problems with their products.

Join the Camino cleanup. Logroño to Burgos May 2025 & Astorga to OCebreiro in June
Just in case you can't get it fixed.
Do you carry a needle and thread?

Use the needle with dental floss. It's really strong.
You could at least do a temporary repair.

Ah! I see you got it fixed. :)

I agree. When I had to get my belt repaired here in Mexico where I live I went to a shoe store and the owner did a great job fixing my belt.

It has been repaired. See the post above yours :
