When you buy a ticket at Renfe there are several price choices.
What is the difference beetween turista and preferente.
Under each of these there are a lot of choices too, but I cannot find a defination of these on the Renfe website. I guess TD is Tarjeta Dorado, for people over 60 with aTD card, but what are the rest? Since the price differs pretty much it is interesting to know.

Slide the pointer of your mouse over each option and a pop up explanation will appear.
These options are useful if you want the option of changing or cancelling your ticket (expensive), choosing your seat, or a group seat with a common table. Regarding "preferente" or "tourist", it depends on the type of train, but basically it is about wider seats and access to a lounge room. Not worth the price, in my opinion; RENFE trains are generally quite comfortable.
