Arriving Barcelona 8/19, connecting to a flight to Lyon and then taking the train/bus to Le Puy. I hope my flight to BCN is on time or early and get thru customs to make my connection in 55 minutes. In Le Puy, I'll look for a bed, purchase SIM card for my iPhone, and tour the city. Next day 8/20, attend Mass, finish touring Le Puy and begin my journey to Santiago around noon. Need to be back in Barcelona on 10/17. This is the general plan. I am ready.

Shalom and greetings from Jerusalem!

I was happy to hear that you are planning walkabout in Le Puy. Lots to see and do, The cathedral of course and that's the place to get your credential, the nuns there sell them in the cathedral store. Do not be daunted by Chapelle Saint Michel d'Aiguilhe pay the entry fee and start climbing there is a great view at the top and the chapel is fascinating! Notre-Dame de France, the Iron Maiden! The statue of Mary was built of steel and inside looks and feels like a cargo ship's storage compartment still worth seeing. I stayed at Appart' Hotel des Capucins, nothing to write home about but it works, 29, rue des Capucins located on the Camino/Chemin contact@lescapucins.net The Camino leads straight up the hill and out of town, nothing hysterical but get used to it! Every morning for the next two and a half weeks you will start your day with a good invigorating climb! Bon Marche! Bon Camino!! And do try the Le Puy lentils!!!

Greetings to you scruffy1 from California! Thank you very much for all the suggestions. I will look into it.

Feeling excited and apprehensive all at the same time. Farewells to my kids, family and friends was not easy. 2+ months of walking/traveling solo is up ahead.

Am looking forward to my journey!

Question: Does this website contain a good listing of accommodations on Le Puy route? Do I still need to get Miam Miam app?

Miam Miam Dodo is extremely useful, though I have always had the book. The app will be lighter than the book! Unless you find it too costly, I think you will be glad you took it.

Bon chemin.

I will get Miam Miam DoDo app. Was trying to be frugal. Thanks for helping make the decision.
