Hi all, just a note to say 'sac a dos' is packed and tomorrow SNCF will take me upto Lille to catch the 'Eurostar' to Ashford, then on to Canterbury. Will start the first stage of my pilgrimage on the 21st from St. Martins Church there - St. Martin's is the oldest Church (597) in the English speaking world still used for worship - http://www.martinpaul.org/stmartinshistory. I have chosen St. Martins rather than the Abbey, because of St. Martin's 'local' connections with both Poitiers and Tours here in France, also not forgetting Queen Bertha's link with Tours and therefore St.Martin.
Will head for Newhaven and then across to Dieppe, Chartres and Tours, before taking the alternative routes of "Chemin de l'Eveque de Tours" and the "Voie d'la Charroux" and the "Via Ecolisma" to Angouleme.
