Hi,

I'm searching for a great poster with an overview of most routes to SdC in West-Europe?
Does anyone knows where to buy that?

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
Hello,

A recent map in color, Les Chemins de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle, which has been drawn to resemble an historic map is available from histomaps.com.

This is the only one I've ever seen... the one on the back of the credencial. Mundicamino has one as well, but it's not as detailed.

Thanks,

I have them all on my PC ..... it's too small when I print them.
But now: where such a big poster to buy ( to hang at the wall in our refugio Bahia.)
The histomap one is also only 54x40 cm

Yes, I've been looking for poster-sized ones for years - in Spain, on the internet and here in Canada. I haven't had any luck, although I saw a wonderful one on the wall in the San Nicholas albergue (2005). That's the one I've been looking for since.

Good luck!

this is a map of the French paths. It is available on:- http://www.bookdepository.co.uk

[*]Chemins Vers St-Jacques De Compostelle (Sheet map) Publisher: Institut Geographique National

This one is more expensive (and it is one of the few I don't have), but available from the same source:-
[*]Chemin des Chemins St-Jacques: Rando.RALB07 Publisher: Rando Editions

I also have:-
[*]European Long-distance Footpaths - Freytag-Berndt - Published: 01 August 2000

W@hen I was last in Santiago, the pilgrim office (I am not sure what it is called - the one to do with ALL pilgrimages across Europe - near the pilgrim office where one collects the compostela) also had a poster avaiable for a few Euro's - this is baiscally Brown, large, and shows pilgrim paths from across Europe. I have tried to purchase the one you speak of - even took the number for it (it is on the wall in the youth hostel in Auxerre) but I think it is out of print now.

There is also a french one show all the GR paths too:-
[*]France Long Distance Walks (Thematic France Maps S.) (Sheet map) Publisher: Institut Geographique National, Published: 09 October 2006

This map has the camino Frances marked on it (a little pilgrim!) with the southern part of france and all the Caminos (in france) that feed into the Camino frances (including the Aragonese) on that part of the map:-

[*]Northern Spain Insight Travel Map (Insight Travel Map), Publisher: APA Publications, Published: 22 April 2008

I have bought all of these from the book depository (plus numberous others) but I haven't posted the prices as I only have Aud $ for them.

Hope you find some of this useful, Cheers, Janet

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Hello Paulus,

here you will find a german map from geomap. On the one page there are the routes in Germany, on the other you can see the pilgrim routes in whole europe. Not only in West Europe, but also in Italy and Middle East Europe. But there are a lot of mistakes in this map.

Hi Paulus,
Here is a different suggestion.
If you cannot find a map the right size have you thought about a magnified photocopy.
First you could try printing your computer image to 'fit page', that will enlarge it. Then if it is still too small it could be doubled by the photocopy.
Not all copy machines do this, you will need to find a specialist copy shop.
OK if images are copyright free.
Hope you get what you need.

Another thought is you could purchase a route planner map - which is large, but not too large, and then use a highlighter to add the various Caminos - or maybe where people who stay at your refuge have come from. Cheers, Janet

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
