Is there anywhere in Santiago that I can donate a backpack, poncho, coolmax sleep liner, Finisterre guide book and an unused credential? I would like someone else to have use of them if possible - ta!

One spot left (female, shared room) on the Catalina Island hike. Sign up by Sept 17
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
When I finished the Primitivo in Sept 23, I spent 12 euro in Santiago to post a bunch of unused materials back to the municipal albergue in Oviedo, with a brief note in Spanish that said, For the next pilgrim. Correos provided the box.

It's not at all economical for there to be a pilgrims office in Madrid, since so few of the recognized Caminos start from there. Although many pilgrims may fly into Madrid, most of them go somewhere else to start their Camino, and many more tourists fly into/ through Madrid than pilgrims. They have no need of our leftovers.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Is there a place in Madrid for the same thing? A lot more people fly into Madrid than Santiago to start their camino.
When I was flying out of Madrid last year I posted in advance here and on a number of Camino Facebook groups, with the dates I would be in Madrid post-Camino, offering to pass my poles on to another pilgrim. Someone responded on one of the Facebook groups and we met in Puerto del Sol and I passed them on.

There is a place in Santiago, opposite the library, where you can donate items for homeless people.
Have donated there some items in the past, backpack, sleeping bag, clothing, etc.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
