Pilgrim's Dole beer

This one is from the excellent brewery New Holland and is called Pilgrim’s Dole. During the 14th century, the term “Pilgrim’s Dole” described the rations of bread and ale given to nourish wayfarers on their holy pilgrimage. It is a wheat wine, very unique and comforting but I could not get over the bread. But sometimes with new styles you need more than one to get acclimated to it and that is probably true with this.
