Hello!
I will be starting the CP from Porto. I already have a Credencial and plan to get my first stamp at the Cathedral (Se). Is there is a "pilgrim office" in Porto where one may register to be included in the official pilgrim statistics for the CP? I couldn't find an answer to this question when I searched past posts on the forum.
Thank you.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Actually, there are no official "Pilgrim Statistics" for any of the Caminos and there is not a system of "registering". The Camino is much less structured than many think.
This is a good thing!!
The only statistics kept are the count of those who arrive at the Pilgrim Office in Santiago and request a Compostella.

The office in St. Jean does keep track of those who ask for a credential... But that is a low number as many or most turn up with a Credential in hand.

That said...I have no idea if there is an office in Porto but I will be there in a couple days.

I don't think there is a Pilgrims office as such in Porto.
You will be counted as having started from Porto when you get your Compostela and have the stamp of the Cathedral at the Pilgrims office in Santiago when you fill in details such as your name, age, country of origin, and the place where you started your Camino in some sort of ledger.
The statistical summary of all arrivals will then be read out during the Pilgrims midday mass the following day.
Bom Caminho!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I arrived in Porto today and got my credential stamped at the Cathedral.. they did ask where I am from. No pilgrims office and I have yet to see an arrow. Tomorrow will take the bus to Matosinhos Mercado to start walking.

Having mixed results with free WiFi. .but in the cafes it usually works well.

Have a good trek. Remember to stay on the boardwalk and in sections where there are none, walk close to the beach.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Also, the entrance fee for the Cathedral was waived for me as a pilgrim! If you are starting in Porto, spend some time reflecting there before you begin your pilgrimage and then follow the arrow just outside it’s front door (as shown in a previous post) to follow the central route to SdC

There is a small, but very welcoming, information office on Rua de D Hugo, stand on the steps of the cathedral entrance looking out Rua de D Hugo is in the left corner of the square, follow this round to the back of the Cathedral and it’s on the Right hand side. At least it was in Feb when we picked up our Credenzas and got them stamped. Back to finish off Aug 10th 👍👍👍👍👍

Wow, you took credenzas on your pilgrimage?!?!! I know there is limited space for clothes in albergues, but that’s a new one! 😎😂

I will be there this evening and look for the place.
