I will be coming from Barcelona.... I thought the most direct and easiest route would be to take a train to Pamplona and then a bus or taxi to SJDP .... is this the best option from Barcelona?

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
I took the train from Barcelona to Pamplona and then the bus to SJPDP in June. You’ll have to take a bus ( or taxi) from the train station to get to the bus station. The bus from the train station does not stop at the bus station, but it’s a short walk from the last stop to the bus station. Hope this helps.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Don't know if this is the best way but Peg and I also took the train with no regrets.

Once in Pamplona use this interactive map to find out how to get from Pamplona's train station to its bus station.

BTW, there is no bus service from the airport into Pamplona. You can take a taxi or a street bus but the street bus does not stop at the airport. It does run by it though and should only cost a bit over a euro. It is line #16 and will stop across from the Pamplona bus station. From the airport you have to walk either north or south along the main road to a bus shelter. From Google street view it looks like the southern stop is more interesting. You want the stops on the other side of the road from the airport.

Here is an interactive map to point out the above mentioned places:

No experience in getting from Barcelona to Pamplona but have done Pamplona to SJPdP. This seems to be what I post on this forum more than anything else. It is the Conda/Alsa bus timetable from Pamplona to SJPDP. This is the timetable for 2017. It may change for next year but the links for checking are below.
  • 10:00 AM (1st June - 30th September)
  • 12:00 PM (20th June - 5th September)
  • 14:30 PM (1st March - 2nd November)
  • 17:30 PM (1st April - 2nd November)
The bus leaves from the main bus station in Pamplona and costs €22. Tickets can be ordered from Conda's web site or can be bought at the main bus station of Pamplona. More info: http://www.conda.es/

I bought my ticket online.
Buen camino

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Do you know if this Bus only runs once a day? ... I may not get there for the 12PM time because I'll be taking a train from Barcelona that morning and think it's about a 5 hour train trip.

@VAS, as @HedaP says, in her response of October 31, it leaves 4 times a day. The last time is at 17:30.

Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
