For family need reasons I have to cut shorter a short Camino from Sjpdp to Pamplona next week, in order to catch a 3 pm train in Pamplona to Madrid for a flight home.
  1. Any recs where in Pamplona to have a modest-sized pack sent from Zubiri, now that I don’t have lodging to send it to?
  2. Given that I *may* need to shorten this Zubiri to Pamplona walking day an hour or two, any recs on which section to let go/ use taxi or bus, until such time as I can return?
(I know these are likely unpopular options but appreciate input.)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Perhaps end this visit in Zubiri and simply taxi to Pamplona to catch your train. It resolves the bag issue and ensures you’ll be on-time for your train. When you return in the future, restarting from Zubiri will be easy to arrange. An extra few hours in Pamplona is certainly a nice way to end your short visit.

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
The Municipal Albergue is where i was recommended by the transport company to send mine in Estella (as I am in an Air BNB - with no luggage service).

You could catch a taxi from
trinidad de Arre - it is close to Pamplona and has buses and taxis. I think it is over 4kms from outskirts of Trinidad de Arre to Pamplona.

You can post your pack to yourself at a particular post office. Use something like Google Maps to choose an appropriate post office to receive your pack.

Take into account opening times and make sure that your pack will arrive in time for you to pick it up without waiting around.

If that is too high risk for your tight timetable then consider getting a taxi driver to take your pack to a convenient place for you. The taxi driver may be able to suggest a suitable pick up spot.

Another idea is to combine the shortcut with the luggage forwarding by arranging for a particular taxi driver to pick up your pack in the morning, keep it in his boot during the day and then meet you at a designated point between Zubiri and Pamplona to reunite you with your pack and to take you to the train station.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I sent mine to the Municipal Albergue (I was staying in an air bnb). I had no problems retreiving it.

I think this will be safest bet. I read that the bus station in Pamplona has bag storage so will take there and walk around town for a couple of hours.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
sharing for interested others. Lodging in Zubiri recommended sending bag via Jacotrans to Albergue Casa Ibarrola, right in the old town, since the bus station is quite a distance. It worked great and there’s a bus or taxi to the train station from old town city center. Btw the Albergue host was lovely and the place looked great.

Most lodging in Pamplona will accept backpacks
