As David mentions in his book....great markings, no chance to get lost!!!!
wonderful plaque on ground at cathedral giving you a choice to. Primitivo or Coast....
I enjoyed today's walk, the first two hours were heavy fog and so misty hair was wet as if it was raining.
BUT after a quick cafe con leche the sun was out and the sky was clear.
LOVED Oviedo! Thanks to those who have gone before and shared this!
I also really like Aviles, a humble working class kind of feel but with a sense of knowing how to go out , relax and enjoy their local bars etc...

auberge VERY simple, big room with a sea of beds....
Nothing great BUT right down the road from all of the activity....sadly a curfew of 2200 that appears to be strict. great place to have drinks only " cafe terrace" as you walk up main road to the right...real neat!
We had a wonderful dinner at Vino y Tapas that is up that same road but bend to the left a bit at the main square.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Wow, thanks for the update. I am so happy to hear that. My experience in 2006 can now be relegated to the trash bin. My walk from Oviedo to Aviles was awful, unmarked, and dangerous.

I agree with you about Aviles, there is a nice feel to it. I remember a bar right near the albergue where I was so lucky to be introduced to La Peral cheese, which is now one of my all time favorites! Thanks for all the updates, it's great following you and jpflavin! Laurie

Planning on walking Norte-Primitivo starting about June 10, 2025. Are the albergues very busy at that time and also what will the weather be? I did this the end of August and September of 2017 and...
