Time of past OR future Camino

Something I just read in the forums made me think - is it OK to use an old credential from 2021. I was all set to go on a Camino but the CV hit so plans were delayed to this year. I will need to get a new one, if it matters?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Zero issues with any official credential as long as it hasn’t been completed/sealed at the Pilgrims Office. Many folks walk segments of the Camino over multiple years. Your credential is a relatively new one.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hello fellow Calgarian! You should be fine using the old credential, even if you haven't previously started a Camino.

If you did previously start but had to bail (e.g. injury or timing) you can use the same credential as before by getting the last stamp re-stamped with the new date right next to it. The goal is to show continuity.

I had my credencial for 5 years and couldn't use it due to illness, injury and Covid! But it is ok to use. People use the same credencial if they walk their Camino in stages over a number of years. Have a great time!

Next time I walk from Roncesvalles (or further away), I'll bring a credencial from 1989. I wasn't worried about collecting stamps or finding refugios or getting a Compostela, so I only had it stamped in Roncesvalles. I would like to fill it with stamps. I'm pretty sure, even if it were filled, it wouldn't get me a Compostela, because there aren't enough spaces for the requisite number of stamps. So I'll take a regular, current credencial, too.

But you shouldn't have that problem with a 2021 credencial.

I was surprised when I did a search that nothing came up on the topic so here we go. Is it common in the albergues to have a few shelves of books free to take and exchange out ones you have?
