Hi folks,
I was wondering does anyone know is there a shop in Ireland that stocks Osprey backpacks?..
I know they can be bought online but I'd really like to try a few on and get fitted properly..
Would appreciate any suggestions!
Thanks, Michelle..

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Lucky you, to be able to buy one in your country. I recently posted a question about Osprey packs and have certainly decided to get one to replace my totally worn out North Face pack (thanks to you all for replying to my quiery). Problem is that I have to have one sent from the US - unless anyone knows of a supplier in Pamplona??? I could travel with my disintergrating pack and dump it upon buying a new one, before setting out for Jaca. Anne

Alas they seem not to have outlets in Spain. Can't think why. There is a Decathelon in Pamplona. Or you could try the sports section of the Corte Ingles if only to enquire where there are specialist hiking shops :)

Yes Johnny, that's what I feared! I have searched and searched the web looking for outlets in Spain and of course searched Decathelon too (we actually have a Decathelon store here in C. Rica) but they don't sell half the things one is looking for! Adriaan is hoping to change his pack for a Deuter and perhaps he might have better luck in Spain than me. I guess that it's going to have to be ordered and sent here, probably from REI or Amazon. Anne

Decathlon in my experience sells mainly its own Quechua brand of equipment, and doesn't carry much of other brands. I can't remember exactly where you said you were starting to walk from Anne- was it Pamplona? I know that several people have commented very favourably on the service they received from the newish pilgrim/outdoor shop in SJPP, and I seem to remember that you could even send queries there by e-mail. And I remember someone a few years back singing the praises of a general outdoors supplier in Logrono- but I haven't heard anything about Pamplona. I imagine there must be a good general outdoors shop there though. I would always prefer to try a pack on myself, so maybe you can take your old pack to start with, and hopefully will find a new one in Pamplona.

Margaret, we will take a connecting flight to Pamplona (much cheaper than by bus, because we use Iberia for all of our journey) and then we will take a bus to Jaca, so would have a couple of hours free in Pamplona. I remember visiting a sports / outdoors store in Logroño several years ago, but my old pack will disintergrate before I get there! Anne

Yes I found a site for Osprey stockists too, and it gave the option of many countries in Europe but Spain was noticeably absent. http://www.ospreypacks.com/en/outdoor_shops Very odd really, as there were numerous stockists listed in France and Italy, though I notice none listed in Portugal either.
