One month and two days!!!!

I am 1 month and 2 days away from the biggest trip of my life! I received my train tickets that will take me from Paris to SJPP and it's feeling a bit more real. I don't usually get anxious until a few days before I leave for a trip. It still doesn't seem real despite all the plans I'm making. Perhaps I'm suppressing all the anxiety so I don't spend the next month jumping out of my skin!
My plans are falling into place and I am making a detailed list of what to pack. I hope to get everything I need long before I leave so I can do a few practice walks with all the full weight and get rid of what I need to if need be.

My only concern is money and, despite training, any injuries during the walk. I am so excited though!!!!!
In my meager travels the greatest joy is sharing in the experience of, and I'm paraphrasing a quote from the Motorcycle Diaries here, several lives running parallel for a while, with common aspirations and similar dreams. For those of you traveling the way in July. I look forward to running with you for awhile.

Buen Camino.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Yes the countdown is exciting, & it's fun chucking things out of the sack that you think you can get away without! & sneaking the odd thing in they you say is not really there
Buen Camino

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The number one injury is blisters. Read and heed the advice in the Forum!

Close behind is repetitive stress injuries. They come from doing too much. The initial adrenaline rush may lead you to believe that you can do anything. Maybe you can; a lot of walkers can push themselves with no problems. You can read about their 40km days throughout the Forum. However, avoid the hubris of seeing how far you can push yourself. If you go past the limit, you many need several days of rest to recover, or your walk may be over. No advice can tell you when enough is enough. Only you can tell. I suggest that if you have any doubt, STOP. Procrastinate. Delaying the decision on testing your limits is no vice.

Almost no one falls and injures themselves, so just be careful on uneven terrain.

Margaret,
There are NO direct trains from Paris CDG to SJPdP. The route is generally a SNCF TGV (Tres Grand Express) train from the Paris Gare Montmarnasse to Bayonne and then a regional TER train from Bayonne to SJPdP. You can see schedules up to 3 months in advance at this SNCF (French Nationl Rail Road ) link. http://www.voyages-sncf.com/. You NEED a reservation for any TGV train and It is cheaper to book the ticket well in advance. You can book both tickets ar the same time. If you take the mid morning train from Paris you can be in SJPdP by late afternoon.

Through 7 July 2012 the basic departure schedule for the local TER train is leaving Bayonne at the following times.
Bayonne/Baiona
07.48/lundi, NON fetes/ Monday, NOT holidays
08.19/mardi a dimanche, et fetes, Tuesday to Sunday, and holidays
11.51/lundi a samedi, NON fetes, Monday to Saturday, NOT holidays
15.05/tous les jours, et fetes, everyday and holidays
18.10/lundi a samedi, NON fetes, Monday to Saturday, NOT holidays
21.09/ vendredi, dimance et fetes, Friday, Sunday and holidays

All trains do NOT go every day.

Bon Voyage and Buen Camino,

Margaret aka MSPath
