October course Spanish Language and St.James’ Way

Cursos Internacionales de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (USC) in collaboration with the Directorate-General of Tourism of the Regional Council of Galicia is organising a Course on the Spanish Language and St.James’ Way from 6th to 24th October 2008.
For the first two weeks participants will improve their Spanish and will be given classes on different aspects of St. James’ Way, history, culture, art and gastronomy by lecturers from the USC.
In the third week the students will walk a section of the French Way, from O Cebreiro, accompanied by a lecturer.
Places are limited. Includes academic fees, board and lodging and medical insurance.

Thanks for that information - it is the sort of course I would definitely be interested in. However, I couldn't find that particular course on the website. Perhaps I will find it if I keep browsing, but maybe you can give a link to the particular page.

The course is Español y Camino de Santiago.

Students must have an intermediate level of Spanish language to attend this course.

Acercarse a la lengua y a la cultura de un modo multidisciplinar a través de la historia, el arte, la
geografía, la gastronomía y la actualidad del Camino de Santiago.
Integrar el estudio de la lengua y de la cultura con el recorrido de un tramo del Camino de Santiago.
Contenidos
Lengua española (20 horas).
Historia, cultura, arte y gastronomía del Camino de Santiago (20 horas):
Historia de las peregrinaciones y del culto jacobeo: la evolución del Camino de Santiago.
Los Caminos de Santiago y el arte jacobeo.
La gastronomía en el Camino de Santiago.
Actividades culturales
Visita guiada a la Catedral de Santiago.
Visita al Museo de las Peregrinaciones.
Visita guiada a la ciudad histórica.
Visita guiada al patrimonio histórico-artístico de la Universidade.
Tour gastronómico.
Tertulia en cafés de la ciudad histórica.
Recorrido de un tramo del Camino de Santiago.
Tasas
El precio del programa es 2.000 euros e incluye:
40 horas lectivas.
Actividades culturales.
Recorrido del Camino de Santiago.
Alojamiento y manutención en Santiago de Compostela y durante el Camino.
Seguro médico y de accidentes.
Material didáctico.
Acceso a las instalaciones de la USC.
Diploma acreditativo.
Organización del programa y gestión del alojamiento y manutención.
Acto de inauguración y clausura del curso.
DESARROLLO DEL PROGRAMA
En la Universidade de Santiago de Compostela: del 6 al 17 de octubre
Clases de lengua española, 2 horas diarias, de lunes a viernes, impartidas por profesores especialistas en la enseñanza del español como lengua extranjera.
Seminarios sobre el Camino de Santiago, 2 horas diarias de lunes a viernes, impartidos por profesores titulares de Historia de la USC.
Actividades culturales complementarias por las tardes.
Acceso gratuito a los servicios universitarios: bibliotecas, salas de ordenadores con conexión a
Internet e instalaciones deportivas.
Alojamiento en un hostal o residencia universitaria, en habitaciones dobles y régimen de pensión
completa.
