LIVE from the Camino O Pedrouzo to Santiago - another wet day

Time of past OR future Camino
September, 2023
I put my hiking sandals snd “waterproof” socks on for the final leg to Santiago.

If you’re looking to buy waterproof socks, do not buy Bottlestalk because they’re not.

Ran into the blue mini bus only once today with 2 designated credential stampers taking their bus mates credentials into a restaurant for stamping.

Day started off dry for about an hour but the trails leaving O Pedrouzo were slick with mud from all the rain.

Then the rain pounded down. Had periods of no rain inbetween heavy rain all day. Just when the poncho started to dry iff, the heavy rain onslaught would happen again for another 30 minutes or so.

About 45 minute wait at pilgrim office for compostela and I also purchased a distsnce certificate.

The long walk has ended. Looking for somewhere warmer to dry out.IMG_0310.jpegIMG_0310.jpeg

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

The weather forecast for Santiago looks HORRENDOUS for the next two weeks. Even León and Burgos, though not AS bad, aren’t looking great by any means. Since I do not “DO” rain, I would be absolutely MISERABLE under such circumstances and would probably bail out. But big congratulations to you for your accomplishment.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Thanks everyone. Forgot to add yesterday I arrived at Pilgrim office at 1:30 and waited in line 45 minutes. Computers down. Compostelas were handwritten. Nice.

Pounding rain in Santiago ever since I got up. Thunder. Wind. Plaza is flooding. Bagpiper was playing this morning when I went for breakfast but has abandoned his spot. Hundreds huddled in that tunnel waiting for rain to let up. Getting out of here tomorrow. Destination? Anywhere dry. Thinking south Portugal.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Snowing here in Wyoming today. Wish I could join you somewhere warm and dry.
Edit: I also envy you the handwritten compostela! The computer ones seem less personal somehow.
