That...is a lovely story!

Completely off thread but reading VNwalkings post reminded me of a time in South West France and how the accidental journeys can lead to the most wonderful experiences.
One evening, we ended up in Rivesaltes (just outside Perpignan) and parked up in the square. It was absolutely deserted but worth a look at the architecture and to soak up the atmosphere, solitude, quiet and enjoy a balmy walk. The side streets were a different story...bustling with locals eating at tables like a street party. The chances, as a tourist, of getting to eat were less than nil, it was obviously locals only!
It was obvious something was going to happen!
Very shortly, the whole village decamped to a bridge on the outskirts where a procession passed of various villagers dressed in rustic guises with the centrepiece being a large dragon. The procession proceeded to the rivers edge where the slaying of the dragon took place broadcast by loudspeakers to the watching audience.
Following this a firework display took place, the like of which I have never seen before or since! (Not even after a Rolling Stones concert...and that was good).
Just goes to show sometimes that the most accidental things have the most joyous and lovely endings....oh! and I was seriously bitten that night..I love to travel and I love European customs and cultures!!!

I can't really admit to being confused, can I? this is one of the crazy threads, isn't it?
Yes, we now have two going simultaneously! Are there enough hours in the day to devote nonsensical clichés on both of them...and still have enough time to get our daily chores and other life commitments finished? Not sure I'll even have time to train for my next camino!

Some members from the " NOT a serious thread " want to begin a thread where you can post about the stories of Not being bitten.

Enjoy my friends.

Did not get bitten on Camino Ingles or Portuguese. But did get bitten while staying in a 5* Hotel in New York while on business:-? Was not a trump hotel so it could not be blamed on the Mexicans

I have been not bitten a few times on the camino.

But I did get bitten in Villavante. By Coco the parrot. (Albergue Santa Lucia).

He didn't like my singing.

I always visit him when I pass by now. And sing to him when he's locked in his cage.

Revenge is sweet.

Were you swimming or snorkeling? ...seriously! I think a scampi is a shrimp, but I thought they were only in the ocean!
Um...”bitten” was a bit of a euphemism Chris.
Took me four days to recover...and I was only there for four days...and I did climb “the old man” of Coniston (twice) but needed a few stops...if yaknow whaddimean!

Folks, thanks for the laughs! Revenge is indeed sweet and neither do I know what those initials stand for. They just don’t stand for stgcph, and I am missing him here...

I have no idea what you are saying, BB! It didn't really answer my question, which was out of curiosity as I've done alot of snorkeling over in the past!

I did the most suffering cuz I've had measles, mumps and chicken pox!

You're not the only one. Everybody got them when I was that age. No vaccines yet. Both kinds of measles, mumps, chickenpox, then I got scarlet fever too. That was not as common.

Looks like you have suffered the most thus far. Your prize is?

I've been bitten by the camino bug.
Does that count?

It does. However, we've all been bitten by same bug. Ergo, we are all on level footing.

Good news guys 'n gals.

My bad-luck ran out today.

After years of un-luckily being nearly bed-bug bitten on Caminos I did some gardening today and got bitten by mosquitos.

I'm so happy.

Buen (finding your own biters) Camino
Just wait till bristle boy finds some ultra apposite as a reposte!

Well, whatever about being bitten, today I renewed my subscription... is that a sign of being Very Seriously Bitten??? So now, seeing how and as (bad English, do not copy) I missed a few pages on the not serious thread, not to mention all the others, i gather there are livelier emojis lurking around. Spill the beans again, someone, please! How do I access them on an ipad?
Have just seen I am twice a donating member. How can I fix that?

I don’t know whether the iPad has the same keyboard as the iPhone. If it has on the bottom line is a smiley face..press and voila!
If it isn’t then completely ignore kirkie and someone with an iPad is better placed than me to advise!

Thanks, BB. I have to go out now, maybe someone will give another clue! And does it matter? Not a whit!

If not....
Launch settings app from home screen
2. Tap “general”
3. Tap “keyboard”
4. Tap “add new keyboard”
5, tap “emojis”

Hope this works!

Today is going to be a do whatever i want to do day. And the first thing that crossed my grasshopper mind was the name of this thread. I have enjoyed seeing the fun exchanges again, and recommend them to anyone for whom it will be a first time read. Not to mention those bitten in weird and wonderful ways and places en Camino...

Going to spend a while thinking of all the times I’ve nearly been bitten by nothing in particular!
As one bed bug said to the other...”the Camino provides”

But how many of you have been seriously bitten by the Walking a Camino bug and just can't get rid of it?

I was trying to figure out how I missed this thread...and finally realized that when it was started, I was in the air on my way to Madrid and a fall Camino...no time later to catch up. The Walking-a-Camino bug is the best bug to catch!!

Yep..personally caught a “Christmas bug” this year but it wasn’t serious and worth a mention..to paraphrase that dear ol’ Britney...oops I did it again!
