I can appreciate the tenor of the post, but find it difficult to ascribe a lesser situation to a greater realization that born is the King...Oh Joy, Oh Joy Emmanuel...it is our belief and desire to...
OK, I see the point...sorry for being a stick in the mud.
Thanks David for adding a "reason for the season"
Arn
PS... Who gets the travel points?

Arn, I was being light-hearted, basing this on the assumption that anyone firm in their belief system would have no problem with humour. and the thing is, within the Hebrew unwritten rules one should always give hospitality to strangers as they may be angels - any cycling pilgrim knows that they may well be refused entry until late at night ... and I think that any pilgrim arriving without a passport would have problems....
So, Arn, be content within your belief and allow for humour, Jesus would laugh and love, don't you think?

Peace brother.

The Dr is In: the birth of Christ is acknowledged in many non Christian religions/sects. The importance of Jesus is officially recognized not only in traditional Christianity, but also by early Christian sects that were labeled "heresies" and modern Christian religious movements. Even some non-Christian religions such as Islam, the Baha'i Faith, and Cao Dai have official doctrines regarding Jesus. Jesus is also respected by many Buddhists, Hindus, some Jews, and even many atheists.
Is it any wonder then, that at this most important celebration of Jesus with the nativity story and all...that we can find love, levity and longing for all His birth promises: Peace on earth and good will toward men!
Happy Holy Day to All!

and Happy Day to you too Arn, though it isn't "Peace on earth and good will toward men", the Biblical quote is "On Earth, Peace, to men of goodwill" ... there is a big difference!

Of the Worlds and Worthy of all Praise,
Our Lord: You have created us from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made us into Nations and Tribes that we may Know one another (not that we may despise each other) so help us to love each other and take the hatred and anger from our Hearts so that the People of The Book (Christians, Jews and Muslims) in the Middle East may live in Peace and Justice. Amen
