Here is the announcement from the Real Casa de la Moneda of Spain [Spain's Royal Mint]:

Moneda de 2 euros conmemorativa dedicada al Centro Histórico de Santiago de Compostela (2018)
Moneda de 2 euros conmemorativa dedicada al 50 Aniversario de Felipe VI (2018)

On the website, note the section "tienda virtual" where you can order/purchase coins when they become available.

Good luck, que la luz de Dios alumbre su camino.

Well spotted, you do have a sharp eye :)! I did not notice it at first but that is obviously not a euro coin in the photo. Here's a link to the 2018 design which is actually quite different http://www.numismatica-visual.es/2017/01/todas-las-monedas-de-2-euros-conmemorativas-2018/
Thanks for that link!!!
I collect those commemorative 2€ coins (only if I get them in shops, bars etc. though) and have never found this web site.

The new coin surely looks nice for us Camino addicts :)
I think I would drill a hole through it and use it on a leather string as a bracelet or necklace.

IF we want to use our coins as bracelet or necklace, we just take the coin to a jewelry or coin store and they can make things happen in a very professional way. Here are two examples [with and without pendant coin holders/pendant coin bezels]:

Number one is not looking too good with the big hole just above the cathedral. Number two [1972 Eisenhower Dollar] looks very professional. Good luck getting a hold of those 2 Euro coins [and the pendant coin holders/bezels], y que la luz de Dios alumbre su camino.

And now we resume normal program . . .

A selection of Camino Jewellery
I had a look at one or two of the web sites from @KinkyOne 's post. Now my Spanish is not great but I read it as 300,000 coins being minted. If so they will become collectors items, virtually all pilgrims receiving a Compostela will want one as an extra memento!! Maybe the Royal Spanish Mint could start selling them on line if you provide the date of your 2017 Compostela!!

Option no.1 Is the one I would go for. After all I'm a male

All of EU commemorative 2€ (an other too of course) are collectible items. Those for 2€ have special attention and could give you lot of money if you for example get the hold on Vatican or San Marino etc. coin. From my link you can also see what are the prices for the coins but those are the prices for "mint condition" (not ever being in the circulation).

It would definitely be a good business opportunity in Santiago with these coins. Anyone? Ivar? :)

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Not as exciting as the 1993 100pts coins - sunburst shell on one side, map of the Spanish routes on the other (always have one in my backpack belt pocket in case I get lost).
Even harder to find is the 1993 Duro 5pts coin - sunburst shell and botafumeiro on one side, St James and a stylised shell on the other.
