Need help with one night after Silos

If all goes well, I'll walk into Santo Domingo de Silos on Thursday June 9 (one week!!!). The plan is to walk from Silos to Covarrubias and then continue on the Camino San Olav into Burgos.

Mambrillas was the perfect place to stop on Day 1, and I had made contact with Ana, owner of Casa Rural Rincón del Alfoz. But she isn't responding to email or phone.

I know there's a pension nearby in Villaespasa, Casa Julia/Julita but I can't find any phone or other info on it.

I also don't have access to any good maps so I really can't see what else might be nearby.

Day 2 is set at Cerca Dona Jimena in Mondubar de San Cibrian and day 3 into Burgos.

Would love some help with that first night. Covarrubias is too soon to stop because that'd make Day 2 a 44 km killer.

Any help greatly appreciated!! Buen camino, Laurie

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Laurie,

Here is a phone number for the Town Offices in Villaespasa. Perhaps they can help with the phone number for the Casa Julia.

In addition on your phone Google these 3 terms -- Campolara Spain hotels. Several spots in the general area will pop up on a small map. Perhaps one may be of use.

Good luck!

Thanks, MM, that is a good idea. I couldn't open your link but the number I found on the web was 947 384 120. Is that the number in your link? I tried calling it but the connection won't go through. I'll try again on Monday.

(I also got a number for Mambrillas' ayuntamiento and the same thing happened so maybe I've got bad numbers). Thanks much, Laurie

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Sorry for bad link.
Town Offices in Villaespasa telephone is 947 56 92 63.
They also have this web
but it out of date.

Here is a TopRural map listing casas rurales in Burgos province. Tap the green dots to zoom in on various areas with accommodation.

Hope you find a place!

I don't know what route you plan to walk to reach Modúbar de San Cibrián. If your route passes through Mecerreyes, that could be a good stopping point for the night if their albergue (www.mecerreyes.com/mece/?p=1636) is still on service.

Hi Castilian. Thanks.

I don't have a map but I don't think this helps. Alan stayed in Mecerreyes and then had a 44 km day to be able to visit Quintanilla and then continue. Unfortunately I can't search the forum on my phone but we had a few discussions about this last spring.

I would like to walk the San Olav, and Mambrillas and Mondubar de San Cibrián are both on the route. I think Mecerreyes is on the Lana into Burgos.

Fingers crossed still!! Laurie

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

That's right. I didn't recall you wanted to walk the St. Olav and was wondering where would you detour from the Lana to go to Modúbar de San Cibrián.

If you can't get in touch with the accommodation in Mambrillas, your best bet might be to try one of the accommodations in Hortigüela (www.fuenteazul.net or www.tabernarural.com); a detour from Mambrillas of roughly 5 kms (and another 5 kms back next day).
