I've been increasing my walking and going to the gym to build up (long forgotten) muscle. Now I plan on beginning some moderate hikes. The hike I am taking is very scenic with a really good incline which I did several years ago...minus the pack. So we will see how it goes
Back pack under 14 pounds....check
New Salomon (how much do these things cost!!!) Hiking Boots....check
Trusty best friend, my dachshund Penny (in case I get lost... lol)....check

Ok so crack of dawn tomorrow...well...maybe not quite THAT early. lol

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
So my practice walk today was a 6.8 miles so around 11 KM. Although I didn't quite make the entire way I had a great time. A couple of pics for you to see

1. Beginning of trail head
2. Looking back from where I began
3. Pic on the way up

Your training area photos look just fine!
Just make sure you enjoy it as much as Penny does. And take it easy cobber. Endurance is what we need to train for, not speed.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Actually I took all 3 of my dogs. Katie is in the picture. But I seriously thought Penny was gonna die of a heart attack. She hasn't walked that far in years!!

Every time I open this post there is a MASSIVE picture of me. lol. Anyone know how to make them smaller so they are not so IN YOUR FACE. lol

Hola,
Ok, first you hit the edit button, then you delete it.
Did you post it with the app? Then you just post it again, chose the smallest version.
Send me a pm if you need help.

Hello karen,

How are you getting along with your training? Are you ready to come to santiago to have an enjoyable camino?

By the way, lovely photos.

Buen camino and god blessing on you.

Hi Piogaw.
Training is going well. Walking daily and am steadily increasing distance. Trying to wear new boots wherever i go to break them in, so having a few hot spots right now. Better here than on the camino

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Three dogs? Wasn't there an opportunity for roller skates there?

Three dogs and roller skates and vicrev thinks Young and Old Bulls would be too far off topic ??????

I have been walking twice a day, about 3-4 miles each time and then today I had a sudden pain behind my right knee. Being old and wise as I am...I decided to push through it. I then had to stop and when I tried to walk again, found myself limping. So I'm all RICE'd up, again. But doing much better.
I guess I need to cut back a bit and work back up :sigh: Thought I was doing so well.
