Time of past OR future Camino
September (2017)
Hello! I'm doing my first Camino September 2017, travelling from Canada to Paris. I'm trying to decide if I should fly to Biarritz or to take the train, then train to Bayonne and onward to St. Jean, any suggestions? I have 7 weeks so I'm not in any rush!

thanks,
Madonna

Hi Madonna ,
I would say take the train and enjoy the rode.
Stay the night in Bayonne and go the next day to Saint Jean.

Wish you a wonderful journey and a Buen Camino, Peter.

I suppose it's a matter of the train and flight to Biarritz schedule. Also, if you have never taken the TGV that might be a fun experience, although at the speed it goes, and where the rails pass through, the view is a blurr.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I plan to start my first Camino in late April/2017 and decided to go to Bayonne from Paris by train, and then go to SJPDP by train/bus. I think it'll be a more insightful and introspective way to start the Camino!

The critical factors in deciding between the train and the plane from Paris to Bayonne are:

-cost
-schedule ... not much point in planning train or plane if it won't get you there in time to catch the last train from Bayonne to SJPdP.
-personal preferences

Hi Bruno, what train will you take from Paris and from where, Montparrasse? I've never been to Paris before so this is all new for me, an exciting adventure! Buen Camino!

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19

Hi Madonna!
I've never been to Paris too, but I'm looking at SNCF site and it seems there are a few trains that go from Montparnasse and goes to Bayonne. I don't know if the link is going to work: http://www.voyages-sncf.com/billet-train/recherche-en-cours?hid=1B64 but anyway you can try some simulations yourself on sncf.com: http://www.sncf.com.
Buen Camino!

Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
