Muxía or Finisterre for New Year’s?

My husband and I are planning on walking the Camino Finisterre & Muxía at the end of this year, starting on 28th December. We’ll be walking from Santiago, but we can’t decide if we should walk to Finisterre first, or to Muxía. From what I’ve researched, both places are worth visiting, which is why we plan on walking to both places. Since we’ll be there during the New Year celebrations, what should we expect – is there much going on for New Year’s Eve? We’re not much into partying, but it might be nice to celebrate the new year at the end of the world

First, both Muxia and Finisterre are worth visiting. Second, spending New Years at the end of the world sounds like a wonderful idea. If it were me, I’d walk to Finisterre first and time it such so as to experience New Year’s Eve there. With regard to restaurants and a certain amount of revelry, Finisterre would have more to offer. Then, and as a wonderful way to start off the new year, I’d plan on walking to Muxia New Year’s Day. Buen Camino!
 
Check first to see if there will be accommodations open. Jan 1 is a holiday and some places will be closed until Jan 6. We walked Dec 31 to Jan 7 from Sarria to Santiago this year. Limited places open. We stayed in Muxia on Jan. 9 in @Muxia Albergue. I am sure the Xunta albergues will be open if you walk there, but you need to have walked and not have taken a bus to stay there.

Thanks! I've been leaning towards Finisterre first. You make a good point about the restaurants.
 
Let us pick up your suitcase once you arrive in Europe....
...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I was in Fisterra for NY two years ago. I enjoyed, but it was a very quiet experience. There were no "official" celebrations (like fireworks or something), and people generally seemed to celebrate at home or with friends.
