Mural in Le Puy

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I love the pilgrims walking and the scallop shell air balloons. That mural would be such a welcoming sight for anyone starting in Le Puy. Confirms by belief that the kindness and acceptance of locals is a constant blessing on the camino.
BTW my name is not Pollyanna and I know this recognition is not universal but it is far more prevalent than I was expecting. Having the camino as a point of contact is an immediate conversational starter even if having minimal spoken language skills.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Great picture ... I'll be looking for it at the end of May when we arrive in Le Puy to start the Chemin St. Jacques.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hi there! Was in Le Puy last week and saw this mural - takes up the whole end of a building, at first I didn't realise that the 'buildings' on either side that frame the view were painted as well.
I thought it rather fine (apologies for the poor quality)

Awesome mural! Is it easy to find while walking around or do you need to find its location on a tourist map?

Hi - I cannot remember which street it is on! except that it is a main road near the centre. There are a few excellent pilgrim murals in Le Puy and it is a lovely town. The old town, below the Cathedral is marvellous.

There is also a rather warm and pleasant St Jacque statue in the Cathedral (missing his right hand - perhaps during the revolution?). You can light candles there, there is a scallop shell on the candle containers.

Buen Camino!

@David I think the mural must be quite new. I don't remember seeing it. Thank you for posting it - lovely.

The new mural is called "Les chemins de Compostelle" and is located here on the N88 going south, where the Boulevard Maréchal Joffre splits into the Boulevard de la République and the Faubourg Saint-Jean. The Google Maps photo from August 2016 still shows a big grey wall, the new mural was displayed to the public on June 13, 2017. Details can be seen here.

There's an older one located here from 2012 called "Renaissance". Both are by Patrick Commecy and his studio A-fresco.

Thanks so much David and HaraldS for the photos of this beautiful mural. Each time I look at it I see something new. The link to Patrick Commency's studio, A-fresco, is brilliant. I loved seeing the mural in detail - it's very evident that a lot of love has gone into its creation.
Threads such as this one make the Forum a very, very special place - they're inspiring and they make our pilgrim hearts sing!
Thanks again and cheers from Oz -
