Holy Year from Pamplona 2010, SJPP 2011, Lisbon 2012, Le Puy 2013, Vezelay (partial watch this space!) 2014; 2015 Toulouse-Puenta la Reina (Arles)
Just starting to plan my way along the Le Puy Camino for next spring and I have so much to learn! Montcuq is found 30 kilometers and a bit beyond Cahors - the St Hilaire church in Montcuq has some interesting frescoes but the finer ones are said to be found in the hamlet of Rouilhac or Rouillac some 3 kilometers beyond. Does anyone know if the camino goes through Rouilhac/Rouillac or is it time for a short diversion? ? Has anyone seen the fresoes? One last question what might the Servat lavender distillery be?

A lavender distillery would turn dried lavender flowers into liquid essence for use in perfumes, soaps, flavorings etc.

Don't the French elide all the consonants? That would pretty much leave the "M" and some vowels. It is like the "shire" in all those English place names - spelled but ignored. It must be my tin ear.

Very true Falcon -however - here if not pronounced the word becomes French slang for that part of the anatomy upon which one usually sits.
