Time of past OR future Camino
walking every day for the rest of my life
I was not planning on being on the forum while I am walking, but I want to highly recommend this monastery. I have just spent a week here, although it is more common for pilgrims to just spend one night (during the week a French and Spanish pilgrim did exactly that)
You get a private room with a super comfy bed. The other pilgrims were put in a separate wing to me, so I effectively had a private bathroom too.
Meals are hearty and plentiful.
You are invited, but not required, to join the nuns for prayers.
It’s located after Cirauqui and before Lorca. Directions with photos can be found on my blog:

In the spirit of solitude and quiet that pervades this place, my blog posts from the monastery are light on words! Lots of pictures though.

They appreciate knowing beforehand that you are coming (contact Madre Rosa via the website) so that food can be prepared, but the pilgrim who arrived unannounced received a hospitable welcome too.

If you’d like some peace and quiet, this is a short detour (2km) well worth making.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
