Can anybody offer any suggestions for a cheap mobile prepaid mobile phone to use in France while walking the Le Puy route?

While walking the Camino de Santiago last year, one of the guys I walking with had purchased a simple BIC mobile phone that he purchased for 30 euro that gave him 30 euro in free calls. He was able to recharge the phone as needed.

Looking for some similar or better

Thanks

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Hi
It's possible to buy very cheap GSM phone in France in ORANGE shops.
You reload it with MOBICARTE that you buy in many places (tobacco shops...).
I think you can have a look on the ORANGE web site.
Have a nice way.

Hello André

I found the Mobicarte site and soon after found the BIC mobile phone site for France:

http://mobile.orange.fr/content/ge/high ... harge.html

http://www.bic-phone.fr/qui_suis_je.html

The same type of phone is available in Spain too

Thanks

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
