Miles

William Garza

Veteran Member
Time of past OR future Camino
Camino Frances, The Jakobsweg
And after all the walking
Wandering and toil,time and strife
Did ye break yourself at the end

Was the trial worth the wait
To be left in such a state
Was this the only fate

And after all the miles
Sodden feet and fewer smiles
The toil and the strain
The soil and the rain

To lay heavy...weary head
For all the hunger
And the dread
Across time and space you sped
In some forgotten corners bed
Under cover huddled
Deep in thoughts amuddled

And in the deepness of your nites
Far from trail,stone and puddle
Where your eyes are far from sight
And your thoughts all are subtle

Whispers from across a crowded room
Turn your gaze from clear to haze

Echoing thunderous silence where mirrors gaze
Is that me....

After all the walking
Silence over talking
Reverence in your shadows

Was it the Green Martyrdom you seek?

Toil, strife and peak
Deep in valley,shadow and dusk
Dust and rust and life at stake

To be rid of fears,of all the tears
Of all your thoughts in arrears
To be rid of the pains of years...

Adding yours to the bent backs of which end at horizons
Days and weeks and weakness drums in your heart
In your head

Was that for which you bled...
