3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Thanks for the tip! I leave for France in a week, and was ready to fork over the money for the eclaire delivery when I pulled out the Miam guide for last year's for the Stevenson trail. A good guide, maybe the best one, but perhaps I'll somehow survive with the plans I've made!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Given the blogs on the sparseness of the lodging and fellow pilgrims, I'm surprised -- but happy that there is enough demand and enough supply to warrant a directory. Are they also adding this directory to their smartphone app?

It's a triple chicken/egg problem: more guides/walkers/accommodations. Great that the folks at MMDD are prepared to step up and help make it happen.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I got my copy today (for nostalgic reasons). It reminded me of the scarcity of pilgrim accommodations! The old Chassain guide did a better job of listing the Amis accommodations, but MMDd has done a good job of listing everything else along the route. Camp grounds and chambres d'hote are important suppliers of beds! There are some fascinating large towns and small villages along the way. Waymarking may have been improved, too.

I bought a copy in SJPP a couple of weeks ago. It's heavy, but very good. We are moving forward with opening a pilgrim hostel in Sauveterre-de-Béarn this summer. Bon Chemin!

I'm on the trail now and love the maps inthe Lapere guide. The FFRP is more complete for lodging but the GR 654 route is very convoluted.
The lapere guide missed some of the recent rerouting.
Things are pretty empty. Only saw one couple today.
