It is a discount code that you enter in the appropriate field during the checkout process in order to get the discount. The site will accept or reject the code before you actually pay, so if you only want to buy if you get the additional discount, you will know you have been rejected before you actually pay! It works for me, but I get an email from Sierra Trading Post that adds the code automatically when I go from the email to the STP website.
