As you surely know, Christmas is a very special time of the year in Spain, my home country.
All the streets and buildings are decorated, we gather with family and friends and sing christmas carols, eat a lot, and party as much as we can . Well, by the way in Spain we always party as much as we can, not only in Christmas!!!...
It's a time for family and friends, and as you are my family, my Camino Family, I want to share with you as my Christmas present the most popular Christmas tradition in Spain : The Belen's Manger.
We put it at our homes and sing Christmas carols all together by it's side.
Mine is a Camino related manger made of figures and camino related things I've got mostly along the Way; in which the Manger is actually The Portico de la Gloria of Santiago's Cathedral and it has figures of actual and ancient pilgrims, an albergue, cruceiros and even a Caganer (the popular and bizarre figure who is pooping on a side of the path and that is a must for children).
I leave here a video of the Manger at home and I wish you all Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and that El Camino de Santiago gives you all not what you expect, but what you need.
(pdt: the voices you hear are TV's and my families voices in the Chrismas Dinner some years ago)

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Thanks! Reminds me of an exhibition of Belenes I saw long years ago in Pamplona. Such creativity. And I love the free and easy mixing of the sacred and the mundane!

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
That is amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing it! So many wonderful details. And I loved the sound of your family in the background, BTW.
