2017 | May | Vezelay Camino.....watch this space!

2010 | September | Camino de Santiago in - completed in full - 33 days - no rest days! Was an awesome experience!!
Hi all

I will be commencing the 800km+ trek across the St Francis Camino on 25th April 2010 - yes, it's a commemorative date for me - it's ANZAC Day (if you're not an Australian or a New Zealander please look it up and find out what it is...little trivia for you).

I am leaving from St Jean Pied and will only stay in Refugio's or sleep under the stars (as long as it's not raining or in stairwells or in portico's) and am doing this solo and I am only 43 years young ;-)

It is a major fund raising event for Cardiac and Heart Awareness for young women - something I was struck down with 3 years ago - unwares, mind you!!! Now have a 2" stent in my LDA and am fit and super and looking forward to the challenge and raising lots of awareness along the way and funds via the link in our Campaign website which I will advise when it's official!! :D

Am looking forward to the possible madness of doing this during a Holy Year and in particular when there isn't another Holy Year for 20+ years!! Maybe I'll walk it again then!!! ;-)

BUEN CAMINO!

Ciao ciao
Jacqui

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Congratulations on your recovery Jacqui.

The route you are walking is called the Camino Frances - The Way from France - nothing to do with St Francis.

25th April can still be very cold with snow in the high places so aim for the refuges rather than under the stars!

The next Holy Year is in 2021 - eleven years time - so you will be 54 years young in the next Holy Year so, of course you'll be walking a camino again then!

Buen camino camaleón!
