No municipal albergue in Matosinhos. I'm not sure that you'll find a "very cheap" hostel either.

Last year I stayed in Porto, walked to Motasinhos, took the "metro" back to Porto, and than tomorrow took the bus out to start walking.
Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

There are a few hostels for about 25US on Bookings. I stayed in the Caruma Surf Hostel. I think I paid 25. For a crowded beach town it was a really good price and it was very clean, the hosts were great and the bed was comfortable
