Hello,

Hoping for some advice on maps. Have been trolling forum and picked up lots of tidbits and some help but still a bit nervous about getting lost and/or stuck without lodging.

Was hoping to find a way to download a google map to my iPad and add pins with accommodation and picked up this great tip in gps forum thought worth highlighting to others. Haven't sorted out how to store the data for offline access on iPad and would appreciate advice. I'm starting camino del Norte in two weeks.

Also, as suggestion to moderator think would be good to have way to flag these amazing resources as get a bit lost in fray. Another amazing tip is free PDF brochures in English with maps description and

Thanx newfydog for a really informative post, and for the files, really terrific!!

I had already been looking for camino route files on the web and have subsequently found that there are a number of them downloadable in various formats on WIKILOC, trails of the world.

Haven't seen this site referred to on the forum and it may be a useful resource.

Sorry. Hit post too soon. Was hoping for advice on best way to plan route, avoid getting lost. Have heard the German guide is best, but don't understand German. So what's best option in English ? Am I being paranoid. Is it simpler than it seems? I did a bunch of day hikes out of donostia last year nd found sine age good b not great... Missed arrow a few times.

I believe there are GPS map links around the board. Wikiloc has an app on the Android market that can overlay those maps onto your phone or let you upload your own with pictures to the Wikiloc site. Just downloaded it (free) and havent checked it all out yet. Will see about giving a review later.
