April and May are busy months. In April there is Easter which brings out a lot of pilgrims. Yes, expect some weather. June might be a less busy time.

Where are you starting from?
I have started a couple of times from St Jean on 28th April and it was good.
Cold going 'over the top' but glorious weather after that.
