While gathering up a bit of info from previous threads I ran across one asking for input on albergues with communal meals. It is from 2015 but I imagine the info is still good ~ just thought I would continue to pass it along for those of us getting ready to start out.

Many thanks to Hélène Cholette-Lacasse for getting this list together from all those who contributed the information and Raybert for putting it into PDF! I printed my PDF out...a nice little chart and I put clear wide tape over it to 'waterproof' it.

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
Add Granon's Albergue La Casas de las Sonrisas. Thanks!

I like your list Angie!
During part of June I will be Hospitalero at Hospital Peregrinos de San Anton which is just before Castrojeriz - finally, after soooo many years of being pampered by others.
I understand we offer Candlelight , restricted water and a communal meal - we have 6 bunks for 12 lucky pilgrims that don't mind the hardships of a true Camino experience ....WOW ..I'm I looking forward to it.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
Our first communal meal was at Zabaldika, Comunidad Sagrada Corazon, and it was just terrific! We'll always remember the hospitalero and the perigrinos with whom we shared that meal. Ah so sweet! Thanks for the list.

Great list. Thanks! Will keep it in mind when I return in May! I would include Maison Kaserna in St Jean. Walked with a few and encountered several others along the way that I met here on my first night. A very special way to start this special journey! :)

we stayed at the Abergue Santa Marina in Molinaseca in Set. 2014. They only take so many reservations for dinner. We were apparently too late, and they are located so far out of town, there is nowhere close to get a bite. Also, the hospitaleros, at the time, were very rude and unwilling to even make change. Perhaps things have changed.....

Yes, I was surprised not to see San Anton on the above list. It's on the original 2015 list, so maybe it's worth going back to that thread to make sure that you get all of them.
Rensaw, I hope you had a great time serving at San Anton. I was a hospitalera there in 2015 and loved the place.
Also, other places that could be added to the list are La Peral Negra in Azqueta and Ernesto's La Casa de las Sonrisas in Granon.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I believe it is La Perla Negra in Azqueta. We totally enjoyed our stay there and the meal was huge... and delicious!
