Thank you newfydog, great reource. I always use Google Earth to open these files, how do you open with Google Maps.

Google is changing the entire process. you supposedly start here:

https://mapsengine.google.com/map/?pli=1

Then it bombed when I tried to load a .kmz.........

The classic version worked through "my maps" but it was a bit clunky. I have not had nearly enough to drink to work on the new version
