In light of the current heat - those considering the alternate path out of Leon toward Villavante may want to reconsider! We just helped someone who struggled with the heat (and we assisted to a taxi) also heard comments from 10-12 pilgrims regret taking that route.
Almost NO services , greeted in towns with signs that bars are closed. Guidebooks indicate different info, so be prepared.
