My other half is thinking of walking the Chenin Le Puy from Ldctour to SJPdP in the latter half of August

Has anybody done this section at this time of year ?

I am thinking it will be hot and the pilgrim gites filled with French vacationers

Welcome any and all comments

Thanks

Hi,

I walked this section at this time of the year in 2014.

Heat was not excessive. Try to walk early in the morning, you will have plenty of time for washing (and drying !) your clothes and having a nap

And it's not the high season, as far as gites are concerned. Less people than in May and September, for reasons detailed in this thread https://www.caminodesantiago.me/com...the-le-puy-route-starting-in-late-july.41881/

I agree with Kitsambler.
Have walked this part in September and June.
Wonderful and few pilgrims and not touristy.
I would book a couple of days ahead.
Recommend fire L'enclos du Tabus Marsolan,
Accueil Dr la Ferme De Tollet south of Larresingle,
La Casa d'Elena Lamothe,
Relais du Haget
Gite la Grange De Dubarry
Ferme de Marsan
Somewhere nice in Morianne unless you don't mind basic gite in Pomps.
Cambarrat ( My favourite)
Bellevue
L'escargot
Gite Aire Ona Ostabat. Beautiful newish next to church in centre.
Azkorria St Jean Pied de Port.

Hi there, I'm considering walking from Le Puy to St. Jean next spring if I can get my French up to par. I'm looking on advice on a few things: - Would it be too cool and rainy to start walking...
