Leaving Elysium

William Garza

Veteran Member
Time of past OR future Camino
Camino Frances, The Jakobsweg
And so I left Elysium
There were othere there who decided not to leave these fields where you see your wishes
Or wish to see's
We spent time getting there and many gave up along the way
But we lucky few persevered...
We..lucky few.

Screaming at the alter of their gods..they heard the voice
And became fearful because they were naked before them
But some of us were always naked and had no cause to fear the entry

The naked among us...saw what we wished for...
And washed clean of all and emptied vessel we wandered as children
As if stepping on watered pond 'nieth the stars
Nary the ripple to mark our passage so innocent did we become

Yet the doorway always loomed at the end
And it was time to go
Time to leave Elysium..to take up the burdens, toil and privation of our other life
To leave the innocence behind and don the armor of the cynic
Because memories live in the aether
We live on earth
And elysium is far behind

Some stayed behind
Screaming at the loss of innocence and the awakening to the reality

We must go...home.
We rage at the loss
We are caged by the memories

The clamor closes
And no longer smell the roses
Noise resounds, instead of that windy silence
We close the door to innocence

But the longing to return is the plucked and tightened string playing the tune by the muse
As she looks
Questioningly...pluck...
Smiling slightly..pluck...
And the tune heard in elysium fields plays

Pilgrim
I hope you find what you need on the Way
Emptiness is to be full
Silence...never is.. if you know how to be still
Be Blessed

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
