France will cost 5 to 10 Euro more per day than Spain. Many of the accommodations are primarily demi-pension at about 31E per night. To that you need to add lunch and snacks.
The Aubrac plateau can be disastrous in April-Last year walked through in a blizzard knee high snow and running freezing cold water beneath the snow cover-be prepared! The chemin is marked by 2 meter poles and they were barely adequate! Afterwards it was a marvelous experience-afterwards!
Thanks's for the info, just booked flight to Paris 4/15/2014. I will most probably just do part of Le Puy route to SJDP and on to Finisterra. I walked the Frances 10/2012 but stopped walking at St James. I have 45 days so looking at route options with going on to Finisterra as my only plan. I sure would appreciate any tips on other routes or ideas on ways to go. Part of me wants to to the same route as it was so life changing but I am not sure if that is out of seeking to re-create my last experience and not put in the effort to taking a new route....
Hi there, I'm considering walking from Le Puy to St. Jean next spring if I can get my French up to par. I'm looking on advice on a few things:
- Would it be too cool and rainy to start walking...
