Le Puy to Conques Recommended Stages.

Hi, I am a new member of the Forum and I am walking from Le Puy to Conques on my own in June I2009. Does anyone have a recommendation of where to stop overnight along the route? I am not in a hurry and don't want to do too much on any day. Any information would be much appreciated.
Regards, Richard from Dublin.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi Richard,
From Le Puy to Conques is very beautiful- great choice! The 'best place' to stop will depend on how far you want to walk each day. CSJ have the Miam Miam Dodo guide available for the route, which lists various options for pilgrim accommodation, along with prices and phone numbers. It is more the norm to book ahead, at least by a day or so, in France, and most people carry this guide.

You could also check the godesalco planning site http://www.godesalco.com/plan/podense and work out where you might stop. The terrain between Le Puy and Conques is steeper and there are more changes in altitude than what you commonly meet on the Camino Frances, so in places your pace might be slower than what you expect.
All the best for a great walk!
Margaret
