Hi,

I'm thinking of walking from le Puy to Aumont-Aubrac in 4 days in October (between 20-25 October). Is that a good time to do the walk? Looks like I will be on my own. Are there enough people walking to make it a safe and pleasant trip? Or do you recommend another area/walk? It is my first pilgrim walk and I'm looking for a destination which is relatively easy to travel to from Amsterdam. I'm looking forward to your tips.

Many thanks,
Patricia

It is likely you will be all alone that late in October. As always, call ahead to be sure your planned destination has open facilities. They will be closing toward the end of October.

My wife and I will start from Le Puy on Oct. 5 for a two week hike. I will try to remember to let you know the general conditions and amount of traffic, although you will be starting much later in October and our impressions may not be relevant for you.

This was section was widely thought to be the most (or maybe among the most) beautiful sections of the French routes (based on opinions of many we met this spring on the Camino Frances). However, our start in October (and especially yours) may be slightly later than was advised.

If you would be so kind as to help me with an internet search (in your language) for a Dutch doctor we met this spring, it would be greatly appreciated...let me know if you have the time in a private conversation. If not, no problem.
