I'm looking for some books regarding the Via Podiensis, Le-Puy-en-Velay and Godescalc in the Middle Ages. Academic / historical books most of all (VIII-XV centuries).

Anything written in English, Spanish or Italian will be fine. Godescalc is the topic that interest me the most.

Can you reccomend me something ? (if something actually exist in a lenguage that is not French^^)

Thank you in advance

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I have been researching the same time period for the revision of the CSJ Camino Primitivo guide book. Was difficult to find sources in English about the small but mighty Kingdom of Asturias. Ended up using my phone and Google Translate app to translate to English. Slow going, but my Spanish is getting much better!

How bout this book? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/3896787594/?tag=casaivar-21

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
There's more than one Godescalc ;)!

It appears to be a lovely book but its lead author Godescalc the scribe lived some 200 years earlier than Godescalc the bishop of Le Puy and it does not deal with roads to and from Le Puy.

This "other" Godescalc was a very famous medieval scribe/ philosophe who was for a while at the French Abbaye d'Orbais. Read more about him here--

This abbaye which was first highly damaged during the French Revolution and which unfortunately suffers from vandalism today is just a pleasant day's walk 20km beyond our back hill. ..How small this medieval world is within all its overlapping layers!
