Catholics in the Philippines can earn a Jubilee indulgence by travelling to different pilgrimage sites in Leyte this year, for the 25th anniversary of the archbishopric.
The indulgence has been made available to those who make a pilgrimage to identified Catholic churches between February 14 of this year and the same date in 2009.
The pilgrimage should include visits to at least one of the recently declared eight pilgrimage sites all around Leyte including the Transfiguration of Our Lord Cathedral in Palo and the famous Sto. Niño Parish in Tacloban City.
Other places of pilgrimage include the Holy Cross Parish in Carigara, Leyte; St. Joseph Parish in Barugo, Leyte; the St. Francis Xavier Parish in Abuyog, Leyte; the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Lapaz, Leyte; the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Ormoc City and the Monasterio dela Virgen de Guadalupe in Kabaon-an, Ormoc City.
